A COPY OF THE TONEX SOFTWARE IS REQUIRED TO USE THESE PRESETS
This tone model bundle is a collection of tones based off a Marshall SV20C Studio Vintage Plexi tube amplifier. This bundle is a set of captures based off my favorite settings on the amp meticulously captured through 3 different speaker types: Vintage 30s, Greenbacks & a 10” Celestion V-Type.
This bundles tone models model an array of different gain settings. The bundle includes a whopping 30 tone models (amp > mic > mic pre) all at various gain levels and settings through the previously mentioned speakers. The naming convention for the tone presets are, for example, as follows:
JS – Plexi Ult xxxx (GB, V30 or V – High, Nrm or Jmp)
The “V30” signifies Vintage 30 speakers, “GB” signifies Greenback speakers while the “V” signifies a 10” Celestion V-Type speaker. The “High”, “Nrm” & “Jmp” represents which amplifier input was used with Jmp being the “High” and “Low” jumpered together. The “xxxx” in the above naming convention represents the following tone models:
- Push 1 – Amp set to as clean as it can be but can still be on the edge of breakup depending in the guitar used.
- Push 2 – This is a pushed to breakup amp tone.
- Push 3 – This is a higher gain tone model in comparison to Push 2. Often this was captured with the amps volume maxed out on 10.
- Lead - This is a higher gain tone model in comparison to Push 3. This features the amp pushed into more saturation with a boost pedal.
The microphones were recorded into a Warm Audio WA-273 Neve style mic-pre/eq.
Feel free to use these captures and presets as starting points to dial in your own tones or use them as dialed in by default.
